Clear Orthodontic Retainers

Clear Orthodontic retainers

are custom made devices made usually of clear plastic and wires that hold teeth in position after surgery or any method of realigning teeth. Most patients are bear to wear their retainers every night at first and then go to the normal work.

There are four main types of retainers prescribed by dentists and orthodontics. These are Essix, Zendura, Bonded and Hawley retainers from Sporting Smiles Clinic.

 1-   Hawley Retainer:
Hawley RetainerIt is one of the best and famous types that are strongly recommended by dentists it includes a metal wire that typically surrounds the six interior teeth and keeps them in place. The advantage of this type of retainer is that the metal wires can be adjusted to finish treatment and continue the minor movement of the interior teeth as needed. Recently the new advanced version of the Hawley retainer has been developed this retainer is intended to be adjustable in a similar manner to the traditional Hawley retainer. The original Clear bow named QCM was developed to finish the look of wires across the facial surface of the arch.

2-Fixed Retainers:
fixed retainersThis is an entirely different category of orthodontic retainers. A fixed retainer typically consist of a passive wire bonded to the tongue side of the incisors Unlike all the other types of retainers fixed retainers are not be remove by the patients. Some doctors prescribed fixed retainers regularly specially for the straightness of the teeth and other treatments. As with dental braces patients often use floss threaders to pass the dental floss through the small space between the retainer and the teeth.

3-Zendura Thermo formed Retainer:
Endure material is an engineered material that was developed to serve as a clear aligner and retainer treatment material with excellent stress relaxation resistance strength and tightness. Over the years Zendura has been used and prescribed by7 doctors and dentists in different treatments such as retainer’s surgical splints, bleeding trays, and temporary bridges. It plays an important role in making easier treatment in dental surgeries and treatments.

4- Vacuum formed Retainer:

Essix is one of the common type of retainers this is a polyvinylchloride, material typically thick. This transparent retainer fits over the entire arch of the teeth. Most removable retainers are supplied with a retainer case for protection during the first few days of retainer use many people experience saliva in their mouth this is natural and is due to the new object in the mouth has to be fit.
